FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Haven for Animals has announced the return of its annual Tails of Hope Gala, set for Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Center. This year’s theme, The Art of Rescue, will transform the gala into an elegant, immersive gallery-inspired experience where every rescued animal is a masterpiece and every story is worth celebrating. 

The Tails of Hope Gala is The Haven’s signature fundraising event, bringing together animal lovers, business leaders, community partners and supporters for an evening of connection, compassion and impact. This year’s event will feature curated displays of adoptable pets, powerful rescue stories, a live auction, food, music and opportunities to support The Haven’s lifesaving programs. 

Since 2000, The Haven has been a leader in the no-kill movement in Baldwin County, providing shelter, medical care, adoption services, community outreach and education programs for homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned animals. In 2025 alone, The Haven helped 804 animals, celebrated 412 adoptions, provided $63,112 in medical care, administered 1,898 vaccines and performed 473 spay and neuter surgeries. 

“Every rescue tells a story worth framing, and this year’s gala gives us a meaningful way to share those stories with the community,” said Michael Graham, executive director of The Haven. “The support we receive through this event directly impacts the animals in our care—providing shelter, medical treatment, second chances and, ultimately, loving homes. When this community comes together, we don’t just save lives; we create masterpieces.” 

Mr. Big & the Rhythm Sisters are returning to bring their signature high-energy jazz, R&B and interactive entertainment to this year’s gala. The Haven is also excited to welcome back co-emcees and longtime Haven supporters Cherish Lombard of WKRG News 5 and Glenn “Qtip” Johnson of Cumulus Media. 

The Haven is currently seeking sponsors, auction item donations and community partners for the 2026 event. Sponsorship opportunities provide businesses with meaningful visibility before, during and after the gala, including recognition through digital campaigns, email outreach, social media, printed materials and on-site event signage. Sponsorships must be confirmed by Aug. 15, 2026, to be included on all printed materials.
