FOLEY, Ala. — City and state leaders, local business owners and community members joined The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to officially celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Half Shell Oyster House in Downtown Foley.

Located at 118 West Laurel Avenue, the new restaurant brings Half Shell's signature New Orleans–inspired Southern seafood, charbroiled oysters, and polished vintage atmosphere to the heart of Foley's historic downtown district.

The ceremony featured official welcome remarks from Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich, along with attendance from several city council members, state representatives, project partners, and chamber diplomats. Mayor Hellmich expressed that the community is thrilled to welcome Half Shell Oyster House to downtown Foley.

Half Shell's management encouraged locals and visitors to stop by during their happy hour every day from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as it features specials on signature martinis, house cocktails, draft and bottled beer, and wines by the glass. They also highlighted that the restaurant would serve brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, featuring classic benedicts, cinnamon roll bread pudding, sweet and savory brunch entrees, and build-your-own mimosas.

The South Baldwin Chamber Board of Directors commemorated Half Shell’s special day by dedicating a plaque to the restaurant, wishing them much success in the future. Together with restaurant management and staff, key leadership gathered out front to cut the ceremonial ribbon and welcome the location to the local business community.
