Eco Clean Marine Volunteers Make a Coastal Impact at Beasley Park Cleanup
Cleaning the Shoreline and Surrounding areas in Fort Walton Beach
Fort Walton Beach, FL, April 24, 2026 — Sunshine, teamwork, and a shared commitment to cleaner coastlines brought Eco Clean Marine volunteers together for a successful trash pickup at Beasley Park on Okaloosa Island.
On April 24th, 17 volunteers and Eco Clean Marine team leads spent 2 hours cleaning the shoreline and surrounding areas, collecting 5 five-gallon buckets of trash along the way. While the number may seem small, every item removed helps protect local wildlife, waterways, and the beauty of the Gulf Coast.
This cleanup was especially meaningful because it was initiated by students from the Junior Council at Northwest Florida State College Collegiate High School, who reached out to Eco Clean Marine to host their own event. Seeing a group of kids step forward to lead an effort focused on protecting their local environment is both inspiring and encouraging. Their initiative reflects a growing awareness of the importance of keeping the places where they live clean, healthy, and beautiful.
The cleanup highlighted an important reality: even in well-loved beach areas, litter can still accumulate over time. From small debris hidden in the sand to waste tucked into grassy areas, volunteers worked together to leave the space cleaner than they found it.
Events like this demonstrate the power of community action. With a shared goal and a few hours of dedication, volunteers made a visible difference while helping raise awareness about the importance of protecting public beaches and coastal environments.
The effort at Beasley Park reflects Eco Clean Marine’s ongoing mission to create cleaner communities through hands-on environmental action and volunteer involvement. Every cleanup contributes to a larger impact, helping preserve local spaces for residents, visitors, and future generations.
Eco Clean Marine continues to host cleanup events across the Gulf Coast, encouraging volunteers to take part in protecting beaches, waterways, and natural habitats.
