Pensacola, FL – Eco Clean Marine welcomed 46 volunteers to Pensacola for a community cleanup that removed 38 five-gallon buckets of trash from local shorelines and surrounding areas, reinforcing the organization's commitment to protecting the Gulf Coast one cleanup at a time.

Every piece of litter collected during the event represents one less item that could make its way into Pensacola Bay, local waterways, and ultimately the Gulf. The cleanup served as a reminder that protecting our environment is a shared responsibility that extends beyond major events and into our everyday actions.

Before the cleanup began, Eco Clean Marine recognized the City of Pensacola for its outstanding efforts following the Blue Angels festivities. City crews worked diligently to restore public spaces after the large celebration, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to keeping Pensacola clean and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.

While the city's efforts were evident throughout the community, the cleanup also highlighted an important message: litter is created every day. Trash left behind in parking lots, streets, and sidewalks can quickly find its way into storm drains and waterways, making regular community cleanups an essential part of protecting local ecosystems.

Eco Clean Marine also extends its sincere appreciation to PenAir Credit Union for its continued investment in the organization's mission. Earlier this year, PenAir awarded Eco Clean Marine a $6,000 grant that helps provide grabbers, gloves, safety vests, water for volunteers, educational materials for children, and other essential resources that make community cleanups and environmental education possible.

Support from partners like PenAir Credit Union allows Eco Clean Marine to continue offering free cleanup events while expanding environmental education and volunteer opportunities throughout the Gulf Coast.

For those who were unable to participate in the Pensacola cleanup, there are still opportunities to make a lasting impact. Through the Jack Johnson Matching Fundraiser, every dollar donated is currently being matched, helping Eco Clean Marine continue hosting cleanups, expanding environmental education, and protecting the waterways that connect communities across the Gulf Coast.
