On July 27, 2026, The City of Foley officially celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its brand-new Public Works Facility, located at 508 E. Section Avenue, Foley, AL 36535.

The event marked a major milestone in modernizing and expanding the city’s infrastructure to better support Foley’s rapid community growth.

During the ceremony, Mayor Hellmich delivered opening remarks highlighting the journey from the previous Public Works facility—which opened in 1991 when Foley operated on a much smaller scale—to today’s state-of-the-art center. Over the past three decades, exponential residential, commercial, and industrial growth transformed Foley into one of Alabama’s fastest-growing cities, necessitating a modern, expanded infrastructure to meet the needs of residents and local businesses.

The Mayor highlighted that the original facility served our community faithfully for more than thirty years, but Foley's modern growth demanded a modern facility. He emphasized that the new facility ensures our Public Works team has the tools and space required to keep Foley running smoothly for decades to come

Following the Mayor's address, members of the City Council, city leadership, and public works personnel gathered to officially cut the ribbon, inaugurating the new facility.
