Applications Now Open for the 2026 Rodeo Queen Contest Benefiting the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation
FAIRHOPE, AL – The search for the next rodeo royalty is officially underway! The Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Rodeo Queen Contest. A huge thank you to this year's contest sponsor, Sandy Sansing Dealerships, for their generous support in making this beloved tradition possible.

Why Queens?
Empowering the Next Generation While the 28th Annual Professional Rodeo honors the memory of Jennifer Claire Moore, it also serves as the Foundation’s biggest fundraising event of the year. The Queen’s contest is held to engage young women in local rodeo communities and build their involvement in philanthropy. This contest brings women of all ages together to uplift and support each other in the sport. Ultimately, the goal is to help grow, build, and teach upcoming generations what it looks like to support others while working hard to achieve a goal.
Contest Details & Age Categories
The competition is a two-part process consisting of an interview and horsemanship. Contestants will be judged by three judges on interview, appearance, and horsemanship with their own horse. The contestants are divided into three age categories:
● Princess: Ages 5 to 12
● Jr. Queen: Ages 13 to 18
● Queen: Ages 19+
There will be a Winner, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up in each category. The entry fee is $60, which includes 4 tickets to the rodeo (a $72 value). Applications and entry fees must be submitted online by July 7th at 5:00 PM CST.
Interviews and Horsemanship Schedule
● Interviews (July 14th): Held at 315 East Laurel Avenue in Foley. Group photos begin at 5:30 PM, with interviews starting at 6:00 PM. Contestants will participate in a 4-minute interview and will be judged on eye contact, speech ability and response, and poise and personality. Western attire is required.
● Horsemanship & Crowning (July 16th): Held at the Robertsdale Arena (19477 Fairground Road, Robertsdale, AL).
Contestants must ride their own horse and will be judged on their ability to ride, control, and execute a correct pattern. No leadlining is allowed; contestants must ride independently. Western attire is required.
Winners' Responsibilities
Our newly crowned Queens will proudly reign over all three nights of the 28th Annual Professional Rodeo on August 6-8. On Friday, August 7th, the Queens will be required to attend a lunch for the Foley Rotary Club as guests of Frances Holk Jones. This luncheon will focus on the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation, the Peer Helpers PLUS program, and the Rodeo.
Throughout their reign, Queens will be required to assist with one JCMF Event as well as the 2027 Rodeo Queens Contest. Above all, our Queens must remember that their actions and choices should always reflect the Foundation’s mission and motto: “Be the Good, Show the Way, and Lend a Hand.”
